The one that got away
On returning from my first visit to Euskirchen I was diagnosed with breast cancer and informed that I would have to have a mastectomy.
Taken away • leaving space • a strange sense of freedom • still a sexual being • never more a sexual object • no lustful stares • liberation
My surgery was performed in England. The type of operation used today was first developed by Wilhelm Fabry (1560-1634) a German surgeon, who became known for his removal of breast tumours, including the swellings under the armpit.
One breast remaining
Lonely • annoying • protruding • lopsided • a stranger hanging on • feeling huge • uneven• one breast • alien to myself
Would you be able to tell if you had breast cancer?

Home
An Englishman’s home is his castle. Home is where the heart is. Home is what you make it. Wherever you lay your hat, it’s home.
Home is: a place to live • a place to grow • a place to love • a nest • a sense of security •
achievement • freedom • pride

Marbles
Have you lost your marbles?
