CORRELATION • CONNECTIONS • JUXTAPOSITIONS • COLLABORATIONS

I have a natural tendency to be reticent and unrevealing about my work. Many artists, including the eminent painter William Nicholson, have felt the same. The work should speak for itself even in the face of misinterpretation. There is a charm in mystery and perplexity.Art is sometimes difficult. Art is often difficult to explain unless you are good with words. I like to use words in my work but not about my work.

Ideas come from a complex combination of connections, juxtapositions, collaborations and correlation. Inspiration comes from places, people, paintings, possessions, processes.
